How it works: Every Monday I will publish a Thank God, It’s Monday (TGIM) post and invite you to do the same–write about a TGIM insight or experience–on your respective blogs/social media accounts. You may share a link to your post at the comments section; then, on my next Monday’s post, I will include the links that you shared so that we can all encourage one another with our happy vibes! Sounds good?
Ah, Thank God, it’s Monday again. This is my third TGIM post, and I’m still waiting for people to join me in declaring that this day is good, indeed!
Yesterday at church the importance of observing the Sabbath was taken up, and I was thankful for the reminder. For the last year or so I’ve been living with more consciousness of this fourth of the Ten Commandments, having realized that one, it’s a command no less important than all the others (e.g., not to worship idols or murder or steal); two, God knows I actually need the Sabbath to commune with Him and rest; and three, deciding not to work all seven days in a week actually speaks of a trust issue: Do I trust that God is in control of everything, including my work load and my ability to accomplish it? In spite of these realizations I know I still have lapses in obedience, so yesterday’s message was a good pinch on the ear 🙂
Last week was so full of blessings, making me look forward to what this week has in store. Among the highlights: I was finally able to start reconnecting with a young lady whom I have committed to the Lord to disciple, and on Saturday I was given an opportunity to give a message to about fifty teenagers about Matthew 16:24-25, in which Jesus talked about what it takes to be a disciple — “deny themselves, take up their cross and follow me” (I’ll share on this more in another post.). I was also happily productive at work, and this week I know I have to double my efforts in preparation for a work trip this weekend. I still don’t know how I’ll manage all that I need to do but again, I have to remind myself that God is in charge.
So I’m forging into this week with a long to-do list that’s still in my head. I have to get started, write everything down to make sure I don’t forget anything. It is going to be a full week. Anyway it’s always nice to have a checklist and it’s a great feeling to be able to tick items off it one by one, don’t you agree?
Okay, it’s your turn. Make your own TGIM post on your blog or FB page, and comment below with a link to said post. Or, if you wish, post your story/insight straight below.
Have a great week! 🙂
